ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY:
Mesereau: A Man of the Times is a is a feature-length
documentary about one of the most highly prolific criminal defense and
white-colla lawyers of our day, Thomas Mesereau. Known for his staunch defense
of such high-file cases as Michael Jackson, Robert Blake, and Bill Cosby,
Mesereau has made an international name for himself. from his charitable endeavors defending the
poor and disenfranchised such as Odell
Marzette and MacLaine Davis.
From his early dreams of becoming a foreign correspondent in
war torn areas across the globe to his successful career as a criminal defense
lawyer, this documentary will follow Mesereau’s life through a path of
self-discovery and success. Most importantly, it will delve into the
high-profile cases which made Mesereau a household name. But also his charitable endeavors defending
the poor and disenfranchised such as
Odell Marzette and MacLaine Davis.
You will understand how the “Me Too” movement began during
the Bill Cosby trial and how this movement and media convicted Bill Cosby
without affording him the due process that he constitutionally deserved. You
will also a obtain an unprecedented behind the scenes look at the Michael
Jackson case and finally understand why his total acquittal on all counts of
child molestation was an accurate courtroom decision.
Through interviews with Tom Mesereau, his friends, business
partners, and from friends and families of the men and women he defended, this
documentary will reveal what makes a man such as Tom Mesereau a wizard in the
courtroom and the strong relationships he forged with his clients.
We will also highlite the humanitarian side of Tom Meseseau.
Tom Mesereau founded and co-manages the Mesereau Free Legal Clinic in Los
Angeles. Lawyers, law students, college students and concerned citizens come
together twice a month to assist the poor. A scholarship for homeless children
has been named after Mr. Mesereau. Each year, Mr. Mesereau marches with the
Woman of Watts and their children against gang violence.
WHEN WILL THIS BE DONE:
This documentary is currently being written and prepared. Interviews
have started and an entire crew dedicated solely to this film are being hired.
Our plan is to have this documentary finished by the end of May 2020.
It is an honor and privilege to create a documentary on such
a man as Thomas Mesereau. Though known for his high-profile cases, his belief
in the American justice system and for the rights of the underprovided and
disenfranchised is both admirable and commendable.
